I read the introduction to Philemon, before reading it. I am glad that I did, because I would not have gathered what I was suppose to without reading it.
Paul is writing a letter to Philemon. Onesimus was a runaway slave that Paul led to faith. Paul sent Onesimus back to Philemon even though he was a great help to Paul. Paul was writing to Philemon to ask him to forgive him for running away, and to love him as a brother in Christ.
I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ. vs. 6
